He (Pant) is currently following a fitness program designed for him that includes strength training, flexibility exercises and running, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a statement.

The BCCI also provided information about the health and fitness of four other players undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru — Jaspreet Bamra, K.L. Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Prasidh Krishna.

The report said that Rahul and Shreyas have resumed playing in the net teams and are currently undergoing strength and fitness training.

The BCCI medical team is satisfied with their progress and will increase the intensity of training in the coming days, both in terms of skills, strength and fitness, the update said.

Meanwhile, regarding Bumrah and Krishna, the statement said the following: Both fast bowlers are in the final stages of rehabilitation and are playing with full intensity in the main set-up. They will now play a few practice games organized by the NCA. The BCCI medical team is satisfied with their progress and will take a final decision after assessing their condition after the practice games.
