I deny that outsiders were paid to visit Australia to watch matches and that the SLC paid their expenses, but we are prepared to resign if these allegations are proven, Silva said, adding that vested interests were making attempts to sabotage his administration.
Silva described the audit report as just a draft.
The audit report claimed that the SLC had formally applied to the Australian High Commission in Colombo for visa facilitation for more than 40 family members and friends of the SLC leadership.
Silva said SLC would respond appropriately to the auditors’ requests.
He said SLC’s funding comes from the ICC and it is accountable to its member clubs.
Silva said the SLC’s finances are on solid ground.
