The first week of the new American Franchise League has generated a lot of speculation. One is a possible reference to April 20, or 4/20 as it is spelled in America, called 420 Day, a holiday celebrated by many marijuana users in the U.S. and other countries around the world.
The fact that the Los Angeles Night Riders played their first MLC game against the Texas Super Kings on opening night is suggestive, given the recent hearings in American states on legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
After the first two games in MLC 2023, the Los Angeles Knight Riders are at the bottom of the standings with one loss and will face the San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday, July 18.
