The first week of the new United States Franchise League has sparked a number of speculations. One of them is a possible reference to April 20, or 4/20 as it is spelled in America, called 420 Day, a holiday celebrated by many marijuana users in the U.S. and other countries around the world.
The fact that the Los Angeles Night Riders were playing their first MLC game against the Texas Super Kings on opening night adds further speculation given the recent hearings in US states on legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
After the first two matches in MLC 2023, the Los Angeles Knight Riders sit at the bottom of the standings with losses and will face the San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday, July 18.
